Your Smart Meter Texas data
A year of your meter’s 15-minute readings: your real monthly totals, and when in the day and week you use power. That makes the calculations much more accurate for plans whose prices vary by time of day or day of week, such as free nights or free weekends. The file stays on your computer; it isn’t uploaded. This browser remembers a summary (monthly totals and times of day) so you don’t have to load it again.

The data will be summarized here in your browser as monthly time of day and day of week usage that it will use to accurately calculate your costs for time of use plans. It won’t be uploaded to us.
More Information About SmartMeterTexas.com
What is Smart Meter Texas?
Smart Meter Texas is the free, state-backed portal that holds the readings from your electric smart meter. The PUC of Texas and the local utilities set it up to store usage data from every meter location in the state. Your meter logs 96 fifteen-minute readings a day and sends them to your utility and SMT every night at midnight. It’s the best source for picking a plan, because you can see exactly when you use power, not just monthly totals.
Creating an Account
Grab a recent electric bill first. You need two numbers off it: your ESI ID (17 to 22 digits) and your meter number .
Go to smartmetertexas.com and click Register / Sign Up.
Choose Residential.
Enter your personal info, ESI ID , and meter number , then pick a username and accept the terms. It’ll also ask for your electricity provider’s name.
Check your email. You log back in with the temporary password they send and set a new one.
If it says the meter’s already registered, someone at that address (maybe a previous occupant, maybe you years ago) has it. Call SMT support at 1-877-276-2783 to sort it out.
